Kitsch In Sync Kitsch In Sync: London's Kitsch Chorus

Who are you ?

"Kitsch in Sync" are a young, friendly group of fifteen to twenty amateur singers who meet up every week to rehearse new arrangements of favourite songs mainly from the 1980s. We perform throughout London, with 2007 highlights including the Innocent Village Fete and the Kensington Gardens Summer Series.

What do you sing ?

We sing favourite songs: mainly from the 1980s and 1970s.

Where and when do you rehearse ?

We meet in various locations throughout central London on Wednesday nights and one one Saturday afternoon every other month. Weekday rehearsals are generally near London Bridge.

How much does it cost ?

Membership of KiS costs £5 per month. This subsidises rehersal space hire and coaching.

Do I have to be able to read music ?

No you don't have to be able to read music. Teach tracks are available to you when you join to help you learn your part. Other members of the group will also help - we're a really supportive bunch.

Is there an audition ?

There is no audition required to rehearse with "Kitsch in Sync". One may be required before you are allowed to sing in with us in public to ensure that the quality of our singing is up to scratch. But don't worry - it won't be too challenging!

How do we book you to sing for us ?

KiS sing at clubs, bars, charity fund-raising events and private parties all over London. Currently we perform free of charge. Contact us for further details.

Can anybody join ?

Anyone can join as long as there is space for you. For practical reasons we're trying to keep the group down to just 20 members. Currently all our available spaces for female parts (sopranos and altos) are taken, but we are looking for new male voices: especially tenors (high male voices).

What are your rehearsals like ?

If you like choirs where sharp discipline reigns and anyone caught talking during a rehearsal is banished from the hall Kitsch in Sync is probably not for you. We are a friendly, fun-loving, talkative bunch who spend as much time during rehearsals rolling around the floor laughing as singing.

Is there a catch ?

Not one that we've found out so far.
